Refund & Work Termination Policy

Riptide Digital (“Publisher”) provides a structured refund and termination policy to protect both the Author and the Publisher. Below are the conditions under which a refund may be issued and the guidelines for work termination.

To support this commitment, we have engaged accessibility specialists to conduct an audit of our website and provide actionable recommendations. Our efforts to enhance accessibility are ongoing, and we are actively working to implement improvements that align with best practices for inclusive digital experiences.

1. Eligibility for Refunds

The Publisher is obligated to issue a refund if the Author terminates the agreement for any of the following reasons:

a) Breach of Contract by the Publisher: The Author is eligible for a full refund, minus a $100 administrative fee, which covers incurred set-up costs.
b) Termination After Manuscript Submission but Before Interior Design Begins: The Author is eligible for a 25% refund of the purchase price if they terminate the agreement before the interior design process has commenced.
c) Termination After Interior Design Begins but Before Digital Preview Approval: If the agreement is terminated during the interior design phase but before the completion of the Digital Preview Approval Form, the Author will receive a 25% refund of the purchase price.

2. Refund Restrictions

• The Author forfeits their right to claim a refund if they fail to provide the Required Materials for publication within six (6) months from the date of service order.

• Refunds do not apply to fees associated with pre-publication and post-publication services, including:
– Copyediting
 – Corrections
 – Book sales-related services

• Refunds are not available for second and subsequent editions of the Author’s book.

3. Termination by the Publisher

If the Publisher terminates the publication due to a breach of contract by the Author, no refund will be issued. The Publisher reserves the right to discontinue or terminate publication without cause, in which case all rights granted to the Publisher revert to the Author.

The Publisher may also cease the publication of a book if there is evidence of adverse commercial consequences or legal risks associated with the work. In such cases:

• The Publisher will provide the Author with a written 30-day advance notice before legally terminating the publication.
• If the notice is issued before publication, the Publisher is obligated to refund the amounts paid by the Author, minus a $100 administrative fee.

This policy ensures that both parties are protected while maintaining fairness in work obligations and financial considerations.
